The Midlands Finance Academy is chaired by Simon Crowther, Chief Financial Officer and Deputy CEO at University Hospitals of Derby and Burton NHS Foundation Trust. The Academy’s Board reports into the One NHS Finance National Finance Academy and Finance Leadership Council, and its vision is to create, develop and support a leading NHS finance community for the Midlands that reflects the population we serve.

The Academy is also designed to bring together the training and development opportunities already available to NHS finance professionals in the region through:
The aim is to bring together all delivery bodies and to provide a clear and cohesive offering for the region.
The Skills Development Networks in the Midlands will work with the Academy, and with regional HFMA branches to develop and provide a core finance curriculum to ensure access to the technical skills, personal competencies and behavioural characteristics needed at the different stages in people’s careers.
