The Skills Development Network website content meets Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA since July 2021. Older content meets some of the content accessibility guidelines in part. Parts of the content meet Level AAA.
Measures to support accessibility
The Skills Development Network takes the following measures to ensure accessibility of the Skills Development Network website:
- Include accessibility as a requirement for all web content. Content must meet WCAG 2.1 AA, and should meet AAA as feasible. Documents created by third parties are excluded from this requirement but will be advised to meet the standards.
- Ensure content authors have access to accessibility knowledge and skills.
The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) standard defines requirements to improve accessibility for people with disabilities. It defines three levels of conformance: Level A, Level AA, and Level AAA. "Fully conforms" means that the content meets all of the WCAG requirements at the specified Level without exceptions.
SDN website content posted since July 2021 conforms to WCAG 2.1 Level AA. It partially conforms to Level AAA.
Some older content conforms to earlier versions of WCAG, for example, WCAG 2.0. Most of the older content is archived and will not be updated. Older content still live can be made accessible upon request.

In Internet Explorer 10, 11, and older browsers, some aspects of the website may not display optimally. The website is not designed for Internet Explorer 9 and earlier versions.

Assessment approach
We used a third party company Sugarcube Hosting Ltd to assess the website and recommend changes which we then implemented.
